The face has deep machining grooves--I don't like that. I haven't the materials to lap it smooth. I slowed the fan to quiet the noise. It keeps my Athlon XP 1700 at about 48

I have a Duron 600 overclocked to 800 (133x6.0) at 1.5v, and with a $10 GlobalWin aluminum cheapie heatsink, I was seeing idle temps of around 35c, full load around 48-49c. I now see idle temps of 31c, and full load temps are 39c while running Genome@Home. The best $20 I have ever spent. I recommend this if you're using a 1Ghz or lower Athlon, Duron, or any Socket 370 Intel processor. If you have anything that's 1+Ghz, don't get this thing, as it's not really meant for overclocking that new Athlon XP 2000... Also, think small....25mm total height. Wonderful!
